RESEARCH & TRAININGS - STUDENT INTERNSHIP:

Introduction

As a Premier Training Organisation, COODU has been training students from Humanities, Life sciences and Engineering streams from colleges as far away as Pune, Cochin, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and from across Tamil Nadu since the year 1997. Common focuses are on the fields where COODU is working and the people in villages for whom COODU is serving in various sectors and COODU Care Center for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHAs). • Auditing of Income and Expenditure and Receipts and Payments statements by Chartered Accountant
• Annual Report
• Submission of Annual Reports, Auditor Statements and other documents to the District Registrar of Societies and renewal of registration every year under Societies Registration Act, 1975
• Membership of COODU in Networks
• Membership of Secretary – COODU in District/State/National Committees

Field Trainings:

• Coordinators brief students on administration of Health, Watershed Projects, Farmers Field School, Best Practices, WUGs, Convergence with Departments and Schemes, etc.
• Coordinators train students on using instruments, equipment to measure water level in wells, tanks and ground, sedimentation
• Coordinators train students on planting techniques, agricultural practices, construction of latrines, soak pits, harvesting water, HIV/AIDS
• Attending Water User Group (WUG) meeting and understanding its functioning and need for it, its strength
• Interaction with farmers, women farmers, labourers, coordinators in health and other projects, local body representatives, the general public
